What does Mental Health First Aid training teach?

The course will teach you how to apply the ALGEE action plan:

  • Assess for risk of suicide or harm.
  • Listen nonjudgmentally.
  • Give reassurance and information.
  • Encourage appropriate professional help.

Classes for Your Schedule

Embark on an empowering journey with our 8-hour Mental Health First Aid training program. Participants will gain essential skills through comprehensive training, delivered in two flexible methods:

  1. Virtual Training: A 6-hour virtual class conducted via Zoom, supplemented with 2 hours of prework to be completed independently.
  2. Blended Training: Experience a 6-hour in-person class, complemented by 2 hours of prework for self-paced learning.


Classes can be condensed into a single day or spread across two days for flexibility.

Cost:

  • For a class of up to 10 students: $1,500
  • Additional students, up to a maximum of 20: $75 per student

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate as a Mental Health First Aider from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, in partnership with the Missouri Department of Mental Health. This certificate is valid for three years, empowering individuals to make a positive impact on mental health within their communities.
